During my junior year at the University of Minnesota, my coding partner and I created an advanced drone delivery simulation as part of a design class. The simulation facilitated package deliveries to any location on campus while incorporating a unique safety feature that tracked nearby crimes at designated safety stations. This project showcased our technical expertise and innovation, blending real-world problem-solving with modern technology to address both convenience and safety in drone applications.

We used Jira to manage the development of the drone delivery simulation, organizing tasks and tracking progress efficiently. Each phase of the project, from initial design to implementation and testing, was broken down into sprints. We assigned user stories and tasks within Jira to ensure clear responsibilities and deadlines. By regularly updating the board, we could monitor milestones, address any blockers, and ensure the project remained on track. Jira also enabled effective communication between team members and provided a central hub for documentation, ensuring a smooth workflow.

What Are blue light stations?

A safety pillar blue light station is an emergency communication device found on many college campuses. These stations are equipped with a blue light on top to make them highly visible and feature a button that, when pressed, connects the user directly to campus security or emergency services. Their primary purpose is to provide immediate assistance in emergency situations, such as safety threats or medical emergencies, allowing students and faculty to quickly alert authorities.
